About
I’m Malayil Vivekanandan. I work on cloud infrastructure and security, with a focus on building systems that stay dependable under real-world stress. I’m especially drawn to Linux internals, scalable platform design, and the everyday practice of SRE.
This site is where I slow down and write through what I’m learning and applying. Some posts are deep technical notes, some are practical “how I approach this” walkthroughs, and some are reflections on what changed my mind after seeing something fail (or succeed) in production. My goal is simple: make complex infrastructure and security work clearer, more repeatable, and easier to reason about.
Hope is not a strategy.

What I Do
I design, build, and secure cloud-native systems. Most of my work sits at the intersection of infrastructure, security, and process: how systems are operated, how risk is reduced, and how teams can respond calmly when things go wrong.
I’m interested in:
- Reliability that’s engineered, not assumed
- Automation that reduces toil and surprise
- Security that fits into how systems are actually run
- Clear operational patterns that scale with complexity
Why This Blog?
Writing helps me think. It forces decisions, exposes gaps, and turns “I kind of know this” into something I can explain and repeat.
This blog exists to:
- Turn hard-won lessons into reusable notes
- Share approaches that have been tested in real environments
- Invite thoughtful feedback and discussion
- Keep a record of how my thinking evolves over time
What You’ll Find Here
You’ll find a mix of:
- Technical deep-dives
- Cloud architecture patterns
- Security insights and operational guardrails
- Infrastructure solutions and postmortem-style reasoning
- Problem-solving approaches and learning resources
- Occasional personal reflections and progress notes
The Technical Side
This blog is built with AstroPaper, an elegant and accessible theme created by Sat Naing. It’s powered by:
